Let's Learn about Ramadan!
A Kid-Friendly Guide to the Blessed Month
Ramadan is one of the most special months for Muslims around the world. It is a time when families come together to worship Allah, practice kindness, and strengthen their faith.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and focus on prayer, charity, and doing good deeds. It is also the month when the Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
For children, Ramadan is a beautiful opportunity to learn about gratitude, patience, generosity, and the importance of helping others.
What Is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Muslims fast during this month as an act of worship and obedience to Allah.
Fasting means not eating or drinking from Fajr (dawn) until Maghrib (sunset).
But Ramadan is not only about staying hungry. It is also about:
✨ Being kind to others
✨ Speaking good words
✨ Helping those in need
✨ Remembering Allah often
Even children who are not fasting yet can still take part in many Ramadan activities and good deeds.
What Does the Qur’an Say About Ramadan?
Ramadan is very special because it is the month when the Qur’an was revealed.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“The month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was revealed as guidance for mankind and clear proofs for guidance and criterion.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185)
